Environmental Associate
Robinson+Cole, a Vault “Top Ranked” Am Law 200 firm, seeks an environmental associate with three to five years of experience to join the Environmental, Energy + Telecommunications Practice Group in its Hartford, Stamford, New York, Boston, or Providence offices.
Robinson+Cole’s Environmental, Energy + Telecommunications team is one of the largest and most diverse in the Northeast. Robinson+Cole lawyers provide targeted and practical advice to clients with all types of environmental, health, and safety (EH+S) and utility needs (electricity, gas, steam, water, and telecom) in jurisdictions, and at sites and facilities, across the country.
Qualified candidates should have strong environmental law fundamentals, including compliance counseling, permitting, transactional, and litigation experience with federal environmental laws and regulations (and their state counterparts) such as the Clean Water Act; Clean Air Act; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act; Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act; the Toxics Substances Control Act; and other similar programs. Preferred candidates will have experience appearing before state, federal, and local environmental agencies; counseling clients on a variety of environmental compliance matters; securing necessary environmental permits and approvals; assisting clients with site investigation and remediation matters; and representing clients in environmental and toxic tort litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and enjoy reviewing and preparing thorough reports, agreements, permit applications, motions and briefs, and other related documents. This is an exciting opportunity for the selected candidate to take on significant responsibility and ownership.
Please note that all R+C attorneys must be admitted in the state of their primary office location. Candidates barred in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts are preferred for this role.
New York and Massachusetts Applicants: Please note that the target base salary range for this position is $195,000 to $210,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's class year, years of experience, skills, qualifications, and office location.
