About Alvarez & Marsal

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a leading global professional services firm with more than 13,000 entrepreneurial, action-oriented professionals across 90+ offices in over 50 countries. We take a hands-on approach to solving our clients' problems and assisting them in reaching their potential. Our culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who positively impact our clients and shape our industry. The collaborative environment and engaging work—guided by A&M's core values of Integrity, Quality, Objectivity, Fun, Personal Reward, and Inclusive Diversity—are why our people love working at A&M.

The Corporate Finance Team

A&M's Corporate Finance practice sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. Our team advises corporate clients, founder and family-owned businesses, private equity sponsors, and financial institutions across the full deal lifecycle — from buy-side and sell-side M&A advisory to capital raises and strategic alternatives. We bring deep sector expertise, a hands-on advisory model, and a relentless focus on getting transactions across the finish line.

What You'll Do

Financial Modeling & Analytics

  • Own all financial modeling and quantitative analysis on engagements — internal and external — with full accountability for accuracy, completeness, and presentation quality.

  • Build and maintain complex financial models and valuation analyses, including LBO, DCF, comparable company and precedent transaction analyses; the team relies on your output without detailed review.

  • Run structured data collection processes, control information flow across workstreams, and cross-check figures to ensure integrity end-to-end.

Transaction Execution

  • Coordinate day-to-day execution across active mandates — managing timelines, workstreams, and deliverables to drive transactions forward with minimal senior oversight.

  • Oversee the preparation and quality of origination and execution materials, including confidential information memoranda, management presentations, buyers lists, data room indices, and pitchbooks.

  • Review and refine buyer lists and buyer universe analyses prepared by junior team members to support sell-side other engagements.

  • Lead due diligence workstreams and support capital markets processes, anticipating needs and managing information requests between client teams and counterparties.

Leadership & Client Engagement

  • Manage, train, and mentor Analysts across both origination and deal execution — setting a high bar for quality and fostering their development.

  • Interact directly and credibly with clients and senior team members; take an active role in informal presentations and participate meaningfully in client meetings.

  • Demonstrate strong initiative — understand the full context of each engagement, identify next steps proactively, and operate with the judgment and independence expected at the Associate level.

Business Development

  • Build internal relationships across A&M's broader platform — including Transaction Advisory, Restructuring, and sector teams — to identify and pursue cross-practice collaboration opportunities.

  • Actively seek external marketing exposure; begin developing the client relationships and market presence that will define your career trajectory at A&M.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or Accounting preferred; minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5

  • FINRA securities licenses including the SIE, Series 79 and Series 63 are preferred. Successful candidates will be expected to obtain the required licenses as part of the onboarding process

  • Minimum 3 years of investment banking experience at the Analyst level required; experience at a bulge bracket, middle market, or boutique advisory firm preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise in M&A execution, including buy-side and sell-side processes, due diligence, and transaction documentation.

  • Expert-level three-statement financial modeling — fast, accurate, and independent; output will be relied upon by senior deal team members without detailed review.

  • Deep knowledge of valuation methodologies including comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, DCF, LBO, and sum-of-the-parts.

  • Knowledge of capital markets and investment banking products across debt, equity, and M&A.

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Bloomberg.

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills; ability to present clearly and confidently in both internal and client-facing settings.

  • Proven ability to manage and mentor junior team members while simultaneously driving execution across multiple workstreams.

  • Strong work ethic, sharp attention to detail, and high level of integrity.

Education, Licensing & Registration Requirements

Successful employment with A&M Securities is subject to receipt by A&M Securities of information satisfactory to A&M Securities, in its sole discretion, in response to a pre-employment background investigation, including, but not limited to, verification of educational qualifications, employment history, valid and active licenses, certifications and other professional credentials necessary for the role. Specifically, A&M Securities must receive confirmation within six (6) months of the commencement date that the successful candidate has received passing scores on the Series 63, Series 79 and Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) examinations and holds a valid and active Investment Banking Representative registration.
