The Team
We are seeking a Conflicts Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a legal or law firm environment, with conflicts experience preferred. Reporting to the Director of Conflicts, this role supports the firm's conflicts process by conducting database searches for potential conflicts, analyzing and validating results, preparing conflict reports, maintaining the integrity of the conflicts database, and assisting with the intake of new clients and matters.
How you will contribute
· Conduct timely, accurate, and thorough conflict searches for preliminary requests, new matters, and new clients.
· Exceptional organizational skills; demonstrated communication skills; ability to work within a team; detail oriented
· Review and validate all information submitted to the department, including requests to reopen matters, new business submissions, and preliminary conflict check requests.
· Maintain and update conflicts database
· Follow departmental guidelines related to conflict check submissions and conflicts clearance procedures.
· Add relevant party aliases and synonyms to the conflicts database and conflict memoranda.
· Ensure all parties listed on conflict checks are identified using complete and accurate legal names.
· Confirm client or matter ownership through research or by communicating with the request submitter.
· Identify potential conflicts of interest and determine when an ethical wall may be required.
· Liaise with attorneys and business representatives by telephone, e-mail or in person to obtain information on new clients and matters or for conflicts clearance
· Analyze information related to new clients and matters to support conflict clearance in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
· Respond to questions from attorneys and business professionals regarding conflicts policies and procedures.
· Must be available for occasional/scheduled after-hour and weekend projects and rotational on-call remote shifts
Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience working in a legal/law department environment; conflicts experience preferred
· College degree preferred
· Excellent communication skills (particularly written). The ability to approach individuals at all levels within the firm by telephone, email correspondence or in person with confidence and clarity
· The ability to solve problems in a methodical, practical way
· Knowledge of conflicts search methodologies and legal search terminology.
· Ability to perform corporate research on clients and other relevant parties
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on assignments, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while responding to the needs of attorneys and business professionals.
· Must be able to function seamlessly in a time sensitive environment (i.e. handle urgent/rush requests, without sacrificing quality)
· Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative approach.
· Demonstrates a strong understanding of legal ethics and the importance of conflicts compliance and risk mitigation.
· Knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word is required
· Understanding and utilization of Boolean search operands and techniques are required

The salary range is $70,000 - $90,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
